German Court Fines Lycatel for Infringing IDT Corp. Patent
IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT; IDT.C) said today that a German court recently fined Lycatel (Ireland) Limited and its managing director 30,000 Euros each for violating the court’s injunction in a patent infringement case brought by Prepaid Cards BVBA, a Belgian affiliate of IDT.

The District Court of Duesseldorf imposed the fines on November 17, 2008. The decision is subject to appeal.

Hypercom Receives Notice from the NYSE on Continued Listing Standard
Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) announced today that on December 31, 2008, it received a notice of non-compliance from NYSE Regulation advising that Hypercom has fallen below one of the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") continued listing standards regarding price criteria for its common stock as a result of the company's common stock having an average closing price of less than US$1.00 per share during a consecutive 30-trading-day period.

While 29 million U.S. adults currently use prepaid/pay-by-the-minute prepaid cell phones today, a full 30 percent (including 25 million additional adults) appear to be good candidates for the less expensive cell phone service, according to a new Opinion Research Center (ORC) national opinion survey conducted for the New Millennium Research Council (NMRC) think tank.

Vodafone introduces PayPal recharge option for prepaid phones

Vodafone is now giving its prepaid mobile customers the ability to recharge their credit from their handsets using PayPal.

The service provider claims it’s a first for Australia.

Vodafone customers can register for a PayPal account online and select from either direct debit or credit card payment.
